The channel tunnel train has been booked so Bob and his family will arrive on the Somme on Monday 1 May 2023.

This in turn means that as the dreaded Somme winter is over at that point, we can start getting stuck into the first maintenance stint of the year. All the usual jobs will need to be done but we already know that the first tasks on the agenda will be strimming, strimming, and more strimming. We do not want the Butte to look like a manicured bowling green so when we strim it in early May, we as normal will leave a bit of growth.

All this seems ages away but it will soon fly in!
