Maintenance has started again

03 September 2021

Sadly due to covid, there is still a serious shortage of visitors to the Somme area and surrounds. There have been quite a few French visitors however to the Butte

Bob and his family arrived though for an extended stay via the Channel Tunnel whereby the NHS double vaccination document was now good enough for entry into France without taking another covid test. Watch if you are bringing a dog as you now need an Animal Health Certificate to enter France. Without this document, your dog will not be allowed to travel as witnessed by Bob and Julia at the Tunnel pet reception on Folkstone as one small Jack Russell was sent home in disgrace.

Bob and erstwhile friend Charles Crossan have started catching up with the maintenance on the site and after a few days gap more will be carried out next week. Painting has been a priority ie handrails, benches, step edges, etc so we will now move onto strimming. It's starting to look good!

The chainsaw-wielding Charles Crossan is seen here giving the bush at the entrance gate a good badly needed haircut!
