Maintenance progressing very well indeed

Maintenance progressing very well indeed

30 September 2021

Bob ably assisted by friend and Butte associate Charles Crossan have finished the latest stint of the covid catch-up Butte maintenance. It has gone very well and one more stint in November will literally see us bang in line with where we wanted to be at the end of the year.

Seeing everything has been shut as such for the best bit of a year the Butte was fine although in a few areas it definitely required a haircut.

Strimming, painting, chainsawing, red/white step edging, and more have all been done along with a repair to a section of the grass at the top where new grass seed was put down. We tried not to strim the growth too much as the last thing we wanted was a manicured look.

Sadly there is hardly a British visitor to the area for reasons well documented. Travel restrictions are easing again shortly so hopefully, more visitors will venture across to the battlefields but looking at the calendar and where we are, we guess it will be spring before bulk visitors from the UK arrive.

All details of the maintenance carried out and much more will be in the next Butte de Warlencourt members newsletter which will be posted when it arrives from the printers on Tuesday 5 October. How can you miss out by not being a member! The 'Be an Associate' joining link is above.
