Remembrance day at the Butte

15 November 2021

Bob Paterson and Butte associates Blanche and Charles Crossan attended the 11 November commemorations in the village of Warlencourt-Eaucourt situated literally across the road from the Butte. After the ceremony, all those in attendance walked the short distance to the local village ceremony to honour those who were buried in the local cemetery before the Great Was hit the area and their graves were lost due to the fighting. After this moving event, Charles Crossan laid a wreath at the memorial on the Butte de Warlencourt to remember the dead of all sides who fell in the war.
